    Family Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving with family at son’s has been postponed until Sat , ’cause some have to work . That’s fine with me. I had a nice turkey dinner today delivered by a local church group. They did this last year too. We are all seniors here in this complex and I appreciate the thoughtfulness and kindness of this group. I know they will be blessed by God for their good deeds.

About the new fangled camera, well I’m going to require more time to download pictures, ’cause so far I haven’t deciphered the instructions yet. Actually I’d rather go shopping.  LOL  My main reason for shopping on a hectic day like this is to buy more memory for the camera . I should then be able to take pics w/o worry. The time is too short for me to learn this stuff and my 32 MB is used up. It would be fun to do video too, another time perhaps. God willing I will have some pictures for you.

I thank you all for your Thanksgiving wishes. I’m so blessed to have friends like and I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving as well. Let’s all remember where our blessings come from, not just on the holidays, but throughout the year. I’m very grateful for who and what God has given and I take nothing for granted. We know that HE gives and HE takes so let’s be thankful and keep everyday Holy.

I wish I was close by to you.  It is so easy to upload the pics from your cameral to your computer and delete them from your camera so you always  have room for  more pics.  You do need a larger memory card though in case you do want to leave some of them on your camera.
I am thankful for each day I am able to get out of bed without help and I try to keep each day Holy.

How wonderful the church did that. I am glad you are having Thanksgiving at your sons. Saturday? Why not! I am thankful everyday to get up and function. Maybe not as I used to be but we cope and push ourselves ah bit. If you plugged in your camera to the pc, then click on my computer then click on the removable H maybe…probably last in line. It should come up into a file, click it once or twice then again and the pictures should show up. Select all and copy them to a file. On your desktop you can right click and clcik new…create new folder and name it then click enter. Now it\’s ready to receive your photos.  Ya with me here? hahaa. Wish I was near by to help you. Have a nice day there and you can always shop online. Lots of deals and free shipping today! God Bless.

I\’m glad you had a happy day, Sidney; I did, too. Steve treated me to Thanksgiving Dinner with the trimmings at the hospital cafeteria (don\’t laugh–the food was excellent) so I didn\’t have to cook, do dishes, or contend with leftovers. My family gathered at youngest son\’s home and we had a great time together; got lots of family photos which I\’ll post later!

And, what you said about all our blessings?

      Amen to that.

Hi, Sidney. I don\’t know what they have done to us this time. I\’m working on simply trying to determine what features have changed, been added, or have been removed. I have to work on permission setings first, I think. As it is now, when I (or someone else) bumble onto the right feature, I can read all the comments I (or they) they have made on still other people\’s Spaces. I don\’t think I\’ve written anything awful, but we have different cyber-relationships with different people and some of our comments could be taken sooo out of context. Good luck.Peace, Doc

    Purr With Prayer

One night this week, after Kassey’s slight estrangement, I had in my Pc chair a denim dress spread over a pillow and I told her she could sleep in my chair and she did. Previously she had started sleeping in another room. Before sleep I was praying aloud for my friends on spaces who need prayer and also my family and I included Kassey when she started purring aloud. When I finished ,she stopped purring and we went to sleep.

Jeanne and I are planning to go to #1 son’s house for Thanksgiving dinner today. I’m sure the food will be good as it was last year and Son wants his parents there as usual. We always have a good time together. Maybe I can get some pics with my new Canon Digital of the "Oakdale" bunch,( for you who watch "As The World Turns". ) Happy Thanksgiving to you all and may you all be blessed in His name. ARed rose

    Depressed Kassey

Usually I wear denim dresses, but lately I’ve been wearing white jersy knit loooong shirts. And now I’m wondering if this is the reason Kassey won’t sleep in my room. She actually seems depressed. Could the white be a reminder of her vet? It is time for her shots, but she couldn’t know that. LOL I should go back to my denim dresses ’cause these white shirts may be causing her to panic and I don’t want a super nervious cat.Surprised Maybe there’s something to this quote about not wearing anything that panics a cat. She still wants me there with her when she eats. If I’m not in her presence when she eats , she gobbles it whole and then vomits. I think she panics when I’m leaving ’cause she goes to her food and it’s a way to keep me home longer. She’s very smart  and manipulative and sure knows how to get what she wants. First she’ll come to the hall where I can see her and if that doesn’t work, she’ll get on my printer, then if no response to her wishes, she gets right between me and the monitor as in her pictures. Knowing my place in this cat’s world, I know that I better hop to it. Cat faceLOL   Angel Blessings to you all, Ann

My cat Basil just hates it when I go out and leave him at home. As soon as he sees that I\’ve got my shoes on and wearing my going out clothes, he looks sad. I always go to him and make a fuss and say goodbye and give him a little hug only to have him turn his head away in disgust and give me a gentle swat…..with claws retracted, thank goodness. LOL Cats are smart, they know exactly how to get our attention and make us feel guilty. LOL Have a good weekend.

My two boys have me trained well, also.  Stinky (the younger) must follow or lead me to the bathroom, hide in the (dry) tub, and then I must sing a bawdy song to him while he rolls and writhes around getting scrached all over.  Bittle (the elder) will only eat appropriately while seated on the arm of my huge old leather recliner chair, sometimes staring at me until he gets a back massage.  I\’m the psychologist, but they have trained me.  I don\’t want to think about the implications of that just now.Peace, Doc

Animals always know when you are taking them to the vet. They sense it. Maybe they read minds or something, but some how they know. I have a bird that is scared of my red jacket, but yet he will eat watermelon and apples. Maybe something bad happen at a previous house with red.

I tried to leave a scathing comment about MSN, because my space was down for a month due to what they referred to as inappropriate material.  I hit the Add button, and poof my comment disappeared.  Mmm, hope this one works.  I like your space, very colorful.  So good luck.
      Blessed be

I\’m not exactly a computer whizz-kid myself, but one of my Spaces friends, Mark, has been very helpful to me when I had a problem with a disappearing module on my website, so maybe he can help you. He can be found here:

    Andy, my computer man

Andy( Chiari son) got my laptop going on msn,’cause I couldn’t, so here I am on GreatGrany’s space. I can’t access my other one, I’m so computer illiterate anyways. Some of you may know who this is. I just can’t get my space going and customize it. I don’t even know if this will be on spaces home. Kassey gave up and went to bed, ’cause she’s so used to me being on the desktop. Maybe I can get bamacatlover’s space on the desktop, hope so.

    Good Old Hog For Cooking

I cooked turnip greens with olive oil, applecider vinegar and sugar which is good. My neighbor gave us some greens cooked with a Cajun flavor(red pepper). It was just right except , every now and then, it seems the pepper was hot in spots. We had some of hers before but couldn’t eat it. This time it was so good and also cooked with fatback, making them even better. Now Mussit (sister’s nickname) doesn’t want me to use this good ole’ stuff, ’cause we have a cholesterol problem. We were eating both our greens and I told Sis that Betsy’s greens were better than mine. She agreed but didn’t want to comment. I told her it wouldn’t hurt my feelings. The next night I cooked the big white Lima’s and she agreed to have the breakfast ham in them. She really enjoyed that hog meat. lol  So now I’m thinking about that good ole’ streak-o-lean. Every now and then should be ok, at least I’ll keep telling myself.

As a male living alone, I sometimes wonder why women Spacers publish about such good sounding dishes.  Are they taunting me deliberately?  Do they know that "gourmet cooking" means, to me, buying a little bit better brand of frozen dinner?  Oh well, I still have my microwave skills (and I haven\’t blown anything up in it for over a year!)  This kind of cooking sounds sooo good to me that I can almost smell and taste it.Peace, Doc

    Talking about Not Paying Attention

Well, I’m still laughing, just called Tmobile and explained what I did and he assured me I wouldn’t be charged anything extra . He said usually those #’s are 900 #’s and can’t be dialed from a cell phone. I told him how relieved I was. By now he was tickled and said you probably weren’t on but a minute or so  and I said I wasn’t on that long. Needless to say I made Ryan’s day. He said this was the best call he’d had all day. By the Grace of God, my world is still turning, no matter how befuddled I am.  LOL

Not paying attention, not good idea, when dialing an 800 #. I had a dead battery in my new Honda and I thought I was dialing my Ins. I was really stressing not knowing the map light was on by accident. This happened when I was putting the folding shade in the window, evidently. The wrecker man told me the light was on. As I was dialing , I dialed a sex phone line instead. I was so shocked, not realizing it was a recording and thinking ‘Ins.#’ was changed, I said," Who the blazes are you"? (nice version).I hung up quickly while ‘IT’ was still talking. I thought how awful to now have my # in this filthy phonebook, but thank goodness the text service is blocked on my phone. My sister had no idea what was happening and she said check the dialed #. Lesson learned here when dialing on this very small cell phone. At least, I know the alarm really works as the car screamed when ‘wrecker man’ attached the charger to the battery.

Im laughing, sorry.  Great Grandma calling a sex line!!  Im glad everything turned out ok for you though.  I dont think they will have your phone number and Im sure they wont text you since you reached a recording.  I too had a dead battery last Thursday, except my car died on the freeway in the middle lane going up hill.  It was very tramatic for me.  I should blog about it.  But all is well with our batteries and now we dont have to worry about that!  Have a great rest of the week!
