    Snow Showers and Senior Moments

Yesterday evening,we finally got some snow showers, lovely to see. It was mixed with rain and sleet. Today (12th)I had a DR.’s appoinment in my hometown which I didn’t keep after talking to the receptionist. She said the streets were really slick and someone had to bring her to work in a truck. She said she drives a Honda too. I was already on my way when I called the office and I was able to get another appointment, just blood work and check-up.

Before starting to the DR.s, I stopped for gas and after I turned off the engine,I couldn’t unlock the door from the inside. So I put the key back in the switch and was gonna turn it and the alarm went off.I thought it was never gonna shut up. The attendant came out and I rolled down the window and told him I couldn’t unlock the car.I turned the key and it quit. After this, a senior moment really kicked in…funny now…I went inside and told the man that the pump wasn’t on and he said that the pump was on and I just needed to press the button for the gas I wanted.I always knew this, of course. lol. Anyways when I went in I just handed him my credit card,’cause the printer outside doesn’t work anyways. After all this I didn’t want him to think I might just drive off. Come to think of it, I think he kinda looked at me funny.Eye-rolling

I found the corn popper I thought I wanted at CVS.It is like a juke box and got that classic look, but it’s plastic, yuk. I didn’t check it out good first, but on closer inspection, it’s not what I expected. So, back it goes tomorrow. I’ll have to order online, most likely to get a better quality. Today, I bought a tiny Christmas tree, just to have some fun out of Kassey. It’s not tall enough for her to enjoy knocking it over, but it has bells on it, bought separately. It’s really been ignored by her so far. Goodnight to you all and rest peacefully with God’s blessings,  ARed rose

I think we all have our senior moment\’s every once in a while. My cat\’s have actually been good about the tree. They have checked it out but no climbing yet. Let\’s hope that last\’s lol. God bless, hugs, Robin

Thank goodness I am not the only one that has Senior Moments…LOL. I was at the local grocery store the other day and could not remember my PIN number for my debit card. I use the silly thing almost everyday…but today my mind just went blank. I am just thankful I had enough cash in my wallet.It\’s probably best if Kassey does ignore the tree….one of our cats is fascinated with some of the ornaments. She keeps swiping at them and knocking them off. I\’ve given up putting them back on for now….I\’ll just wait until Christmas. We were supposed to have snow today…but it seems to have by-passed us for now. I just hope it doesn\’t decide to snow on a day when I need to go and tend to my mother. The area I have to drive through to get to her place is notorious for blowing snow and whiteout conditions.Have a peaceful night too, AnnGod Bless YouKarin

I got tickled reading this. The good part is, we all have those moments no matter our age. Most times it has to do with multitasking and having so much on the mind. But even if that isn\’t it..it\’s good to get a laugh out of it. So then it serves a purpose. 🙂 have a good weekend Ann. My kitty hasn\’t had anythign to say yet about the tree. Probably because there is nothing on it but lights..thanks to her.

    • Terry 12:56 pm on December 13, 2008 Permalink | Reply

That was funny. Those moments get us all once in awhile. The attendant will have his moments too and then he will be the one looked at funny. lol

Isn\’t it interesting how we have such moments…like our brain goes on vacation. I\’ve had them since before I could actually call them senior moments. Sometimes when I ask a \’duh\’ question and get an answer, I respond,, \’Well, I was just testing you!\’ We haven\’t had much snow here. Grandchildren keep hoping for enough to go sledding.

Glad you finally got some moisture. Ours is due in today and tomorrow and part of next week. We may even get some snow! We usually get just a dusting about once a year, because we live in the higher altitude area.

The snow showers sound so beautiful. I\’d swap it in a blink if I could. We are in for a really long and hot summer here in Australia. Today was just awful, we were dripping in sweat. Ewww, I had to take a cold shower to cool down. Sorry to read all the happenings at the petrol station, but I did giggle while reading your blog entry. I guess at the time it wasn\’t so funny but you have a great story to tell and thanks for sharing. I don\’t like to call moments like that senior moments because we all have moments like these. I just turned 40 and they say life gets better after 40. So I\’m looking forward to the next forty years. God bless you always. Love and Hugs, Kerrie xoxo

I have many of those moments myself. Some are quite funny. Problem is, I can\’t remember most of them now……another part of senior moments, I think……~giggles~

Talking about Thunder Storms Way Down Here

Thank you all for your comments. I forgot to tell you all that while we were in Big Lott’s,the bottom fell out and an umbrella would have been useless. I went to the car with my jacket over my head, turned on the seat heaters and drove up to the building to pick up Jeanne, puddles everywhere.I’m thankful we got home safe and Lord-willing the hunt for a hot air corn popper will continue.

Jeanne and I went to Walmart and got the Thanksgiving pictures developed finally and I’m not a photographer so I’m not real pleased with them. It’s a stormy tonight so I’ll wait until tomorrow to post them.We brought our groceries home and I left mine in the floor except for frozen stuff, ’cause I wanted to go to Big Lot’s before the storm really set in.I told Kassey I had to go back to town and she was upset with me.This cat isn’t subtle in her body language. Her fur ruffles when I talk to her, when she’s upset with me.I gave her some of her favorite ice cream(butter pecan w/o nuts),but that didn’t fix it.She kept meowing about something and finally after checking litter box, seemed ok. So I told her to show me what she needed and I followed her to my bathroom. After my shower, instead of putting my dress in the washing machine, I left it in the floor. She went to my dress and started rubbing on it.Well, this was a broad hint for me to stay home with her, but I wanted to go to Big Lot’s to buy a hot air popcorn popper, which I didn’t find.I started thisa blog last night but it was really bad so I turned off the PC. It\’s warmed up now and it\’s a great big slushy mess. Yuk! Your Kassey sounds like a real little character, bless her. Boy, they sure let us know don\’t they when they aren\’t pleased. The example was something to the effect of: "She was not pretty, bless her heart!" "He is not the brightest person I\’ve met, bless his heart, but he tries."I will have to look back through old emails and message it to you :-)Have a wonderful Christmas!

I am slowly getting the hang of it (I think). I believe I have hidden the comments I leave in friends spaces from all but the intended receiver. In the process I hid my blog updates (corrected that…hopefully). Perhaps one day we can look back at this as a learned experience.Y\’all have a nice Sunday. I\’m gonna watch the Titans whip arse 🙂

    Talking about Family Thanksgiving Day

Hi everyone, I’m sorry I haven’t talked about the family dinner. We didn’t have wall- to- wall family this time. David and his Daddy were on the road until late the night before and both dragging their tails. So they only invited their children, wives and Grand-Daughter,( expecting a brother in March) and Mother. The food was very good and I really tried ,lol , not to eat too much. David made a peach cobbler, which was good, even though he forgot the sugar in the crust, too tired really to be entertaining. The only pictures I have are on a throwaway camera and they should be good. I got some pet pictures. Their cat, Zeus, is a big boy, and his Daddy is a lynx. David puts his leash on to go out. He was so sweet and got in my lap. The other cat was high up peeping from a cupboard. Kassey checked me out real good when I got home. She not only smelled cat but dog too. The ones on the Canon are of Kassey. I did get a 4 GB memory card and Andy downloaded or uploaded ? , lol, what I had on it. I have a slot on my PC, which I didn’t know, so now maybe I can do it next time. I do have about 6 shots left before I can get them developed. I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving and the weather is good where you all are. I got a snow flurry and I wish I had taken a picture, but maybe we’ll get a little more later. We have to be careful what we wish for , don’t we ? Thank you all for your good wishes and I wish God’s blessings for you all,  Red rose

    Family Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving with family at son’s has been postponed until Sat , ’cause some have to work . That’s fine with me. I had a nice turkey dinner today delivered by a local church group. They did this last year too. We are all seniors here in this complex and I appreciate the thoughtfulness and kindness of this group. I know they will be blessed by God for their good deeds.

About the new fangled camera, well I’m going to require more time to download pictures, ’cause so far I haven’t deciphered the instructions yet. Actually I’d rather go shopping.  LOL  My main reason for shopping on a hectic day like this is to buy more memory for the camera . I should then be able to take pics w/o worry. The time is too short for me to learn this stuff and my 32 MB is used up. It would be fun to do video too, another time perhaps. God willing I will have some pictures for you.

I thank you all for your Thanksgiving wishes. I’m so blessed to have friends like and I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving as well. Let’s all remember where our blessings come from, not just on the holidays, but throughout the year. I’m very grateful for who and what God has given and I take nothing for granted. We know that HE gives and HE takes so let’s be thankful and keep everyday Holy.

I don\’t put sugar in my crust when I make peach cobbler, but I do sprinkle some on top.  I bet it was good anyway.  I love the stuff!
