    Still Stumped After Reading

                                                      This is under Product Support

To view the current software version and check for software updates, the network must be con-
nected to the TV or a broadcast download must be available (for US customers only). Press the
up/ down arrow key to choose the new version ( if available) and press + to begin the software

The Cable/Antenna cable needs to be connected directly to the TV and have digital TV program-
ming ( not available with the use of a cable box).

The broadcast download is performed while the TV is off.

The software update is performed while the TV is powered on.

Do not turn off the TV during the software update, it may damage the TV software.

I have no DSL internet nor landline telephone service. I only use an Antenna and the reception
is perfect, just as though I had cable. My internet is the Webconnect stick from T-Mobile.
Maybe if anyone of you have a Sony Bravia , you may know more about this. I’m sorry I couldn’t shed
    any light on this.

Throw th manual out and call the tech support….First ask them if they speak English….

    • L e e 11:21 am on January 24, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Wow! You have quite a situation there. I\’m familiar with the Webconnect stick from t-mobile (for your pc), and certainly understand your use of the antenna. You must have a fairly new tv. So, my guess is that apparently the tv manufacturer is assuming that no one uses an antenna anymore and has programmed the tv to automatically search for updates periodically, in which case, Samuel J Frog is at least partially correct. Throw out the manual! The only tech support you have to call would be the Tv tech svc in which case they will probably just scratch their head and give you a runaround (because they don\’t understand that anyone still uses an antenna. Best just ignore it and carry on with life as if it\’s just meant to be! LOLDo take care, GGBLee

    She’s At It Again….Spring Cleaning ….Good Bed…..Kassey

It’s not Spring yet, but she just can’t wait. She found the good bed she was looking for.

After she used it for awhile and I  saw that it was safe, I slept on it in the wee hours this morning. I woke
from my nap on the back of the couch and I was hungry. I did my usual thing that she dislikes, pawing
at the blinds. Of course, she said ,"Ok Kassey". So I led her to the kitchen to my bowl she left empty.
She was still sleepy and said she was going back to bed. She was still awake when I got to the bed-
room. She told me to jump up on the bed if I wanted to sleep with her, so I slept there until we got
    up about 8:30.
The real cold weather has been gone for awhile and it’s been rainy, almost like Spring.
Today, she cleaned out our ‘Tornado’ closet. She thought we may have to use it, but the tornado hit a
neighboring town. I dreaded going into that closet, and I’m sorry others had a bad storm. It’s hard on
pets too and I hope none were hurt…..Guess I’ll get a nap now.
                       Blessings Always,  Kassey

Kassey, you have learned how to wake mom up! the venetian blind trick always works,. I wake up my mom by getting into bed with her and walking up to her face and batting at that roller she has in her bangs for the night. It\’s the pnly one she uses so, I have to bat that one. Sure wakes her up!

    Software Update For Big TV?

Yesterday morning, I had the TV on. There was a message on the screen that it

was updating it’s software and the TV would be going off and back on. This TV has
no cable box. I disconnected from the cable several months ago. It seems spooky to
me, although there may be info in the booklet, which I haven’t read. I guess I will now.
It’s always better late than never. I just wondered if anyone knows anything about this.
What is this Techy world coming to? Anyone’s guess, I suppose and I’m Techy
            Blessing Always, GGB

Hi GGB! If you have DSL for your computer, then I would have to bet that you are receiving TV thru your phone line in which case, yes, you will periodically get updates automatically. Usually they occur late at night (or early morning) but I suppose there are always exceptions. In most cases they are just updating the programing so as to keep you current. (Do they still print the"TV Guide"?) But, if it wasn\’t for my grandson I\’d never even get my cel phone programed! I have a hard enough time just answering the darned thing!. Take care . . . . and glad to see you are still posting.Lee

    Very Grateful For Small Snowfall

For once I’m grateful we didn’t get much snow this time.

Something very important came up so I had to make a short trip.
It’s so amazing to me how God supplies our needs and sometimes
withholds the things we want, even such a small thing like snow.
We seldom get snow so I was hoping for a good one this time.
If we had, the streets would have been a mess and I wouldn’t
have been available for my son. I sometimes forget how diffi-
cult it can be for those who have to be out in it. Here, we really
aren’t prepared like a lot of states. In neighboring towns, there
were a lot of streets closed because of icing.

The temps have really been low and my water has been running
to prevent frozen pipes. The cabinet doors are still open for
the heat to circulate. Kassey has always enjoyed opening the
cabinet doors and I wonder what she’s thinking…lol  The last
weather report I heard was that the temp tonight would be
about 9F. Well, maybe so, maybe not. They miss it so much.
This AM it was 12F, so who knows.

Kassey keeps asking for the door to be opened, so I open it
for her. Then she walks away. I guess it’s just cabin fever.
Stay warm or cool wherever you are.

    Blessings Always, GGB

hello from snowy cold hertfordshire, england. abnormally cold here and much more snow than normal, I dont like it, looks pretty and some kids like to play in it. but when it comes to travelling even walking, forget it, we dont get it cleared here ( apart from major roads) so it just goes on on and then another lot falls. but you are right god knows best and provides for us.

Here in Jerusalem, it\’s been in the lower 20s Celsius for the past few days – and no sign of the much – needed rain. I guess the neighbour\’s grass is always greener (er – whiter)…I second Sue\’s suggestion – wrap up warm and find a good book (and I can\’t resist suggesting that the book be my brother\’s latest novel, "Mercy" . Lol…)
