    Monday Late Night Stinky Whiffies…Kassey

    Monday Late Night Stinky Whiffies…Kassey

We went to bed later than usual last night.
Mom opened the bedroom window for cool
air and I really enjoyed being in the window.

We have a paper mill in a neighboring town
and when the wind is just right, we get the stinky
whiffies. Even during the day, when Mom goes
out, she smells it on her clothes when she’s back
    home.

Last night, Mom thought I left the room. I had been
misbeaving as usual. She had closed the door and up
I came from somewhere in the bedroom. MOL I
decided I would go to bed, making her happy for
awhile anyhow. And about 3 o’dark, sky water came
down and it was so nice. It was gentle and Mom left
    the window open.
I hope you’re all getting nice smelling air where you are.
Mom says, stinky air is better than none. Be Blessed,
    effuryone.

    Sweet Monday Rain

    Sweet Monday Rain

Rain, rain, love it. The temps are in the 60’s, like Fall.
We’ve waited so long for a good soaking rain. And
so far there are no storms predicted for us. I’m so
grateful for that. My hall closet is so stuffed at the
present. I’m still getting rid of excess and TN son
took a lot with  him yesterday. I love those empty
    organizers, a relief indeed.

We had a good visit, but sweet Kassey, as she
spoke about yesterday was most unhappy. All is
forgiven and she slept with me for awhile. And of
course the blinds thing started again and out she went.
She is so persistent and she only does the blinds thing
when I’m in the room. If this weren’t the case, they’d
be broken. I guess the only thing to day is bring her
food into the bedroom at night. Her bowl of water is
in her bathroom and sometimes the water is running.
Somehow she and I have to get more rest at night.

I may go out today to the T-Mobile store and check
out their smartphones. They really have some good deals
for the holiday. I just don’t know which kind to buy or if
I’m smart enough to operate one. This techy stuff is moving
way too fast for me. On that note, have a Blessed week,
    everyone.

    Worried Wednesday

    Worried Wednesday

It’s so difficult not to worry especially when our children are having
health issues. It’s Andy again who needs prayer. He has been diag-
nosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I never knew anything about this and
still know little about it. His body is holding onto the sugar and won’t
release it, not even through the kidneys. He hasn’t been well for some
time now and mostly just laying around the house.

Tomorrow, Thursday, he will have the test which scares me. I don’t
understand the reasoning behind it. He will drink about 4 ounces of
glucose and it could result in coma or death.

He has no appetite and had not eaten all day the afternoon he had
blood work for this. His Glucose 136 (normal 70-100)
    His Insulin was 26.5 (normal 2.9 – 10.1)
    C-Peptide 5.5   (normal  0.8-3.1)
    AST ( SGOT )   13  ( normal  0.8-  3.1

I hope someone can enlighten me on this disease. He told me that his
Dad has this as well so I wonder if it’s hereditary. My first thought was
that one of his medications is too blame.
I will post as I know the results of this test.

I sure need the sunshine today, don’t we all. I hope you all have sunshine
    today and are most Blessed.

      Dear GGB
I can really understand your worries and concerns about Andy, but believe me Type 2 Diabetes is a lot more common than you think.
My Mum was an insulin dependent diabetic, and she lived until she was 82.
Two of my Sisters have Type 2 diabetes, one of them is on medication, the other one is diet controlled. All of them lead perfectly normal lives. The main thing Andy will have to do is watch the carbohydrates he consumes. Not all carbs, but those which contain sugars. Most foods these days have a nutrition information list on them and you just have to take note of the item that says” Carbohydrates” and just underneath says “of which sugars” this is the one that has to be counted. Andy will be told how many he has to limit himself to. Another really important thing is exercise. I don’t mean “pumping iron” or anything like that. Just a nice walk will work wonders..
Please try not to worry yourself, the control of this disease has really improved these days.
      I hope I have helped a bit.
      Love Marjie x

Hi, Marjie, thank you for your informative comment. I just never knew anything about this, but through comments I”ve received, I feel so much better about it. I myself plan to go by the guidelines for this disease.
I hope things are looking up for your Dad and your family.

      Hi GreatGrannyBee,
I’m sorry to hear about Andy. I know people who have Type 2 as well and they lead very normal lives. Even my old cat Basil had diabetes and had to have insulin shots every day and lived a normal long life, (15 years which is above average for a cat especially on top of his kidney disease and hyperthyroidism as well).
Diabetes can me managed quite well with proper diet and excercise, medicine has come a long way, so please try not to worry to much. I’m sure once Andy has been prescribed the proper regimine for him, he will catch on and start to feel better and do well.
I’ll keep Andy in my prayers. hugs x

    Do I Look Happy??..Pffsssstt….Kassey

    Do I Look Happy??..Pffssssttt…….Kassey

Yesterday was an awful day. Mom said we had tornadoes coming and she

cleaned out our closet. I always dread that hot closet and this is what she did
to me. I’m a good girl but she said she had to put me in this thing. We did go
into the closet for a few minutes, but it seemed like the tornado was gonna
miss us again this time. She let me out for awhile as I had a snack and made
a potty trip. Well, I had to be put in this thing again as the tornadoes kept
coming and we had to be ready for the closet. She told me she was sorry
that she had to do this. Oh well, at least I didn’t have to go to the dreaded
vet and we were blessed yet again.
