    Wednesday Rant…Cracked Concrete Fixed Finally

So nice today ! It was a cold night for us too. My fur baby was cold
too as she looked up at me meowing. It was so cold on the floor, so
I turned it up . She curled up on the back of the recliner so she could
feel the warmth. And she saw the finishing touches on our fixed walk
                     in front.
I do not understand why these hired contractors don’t do it right the
first time….yeah ‘mo money’…lol   Monday they pored a grey liquid, may-
be a little cement mixed in and with a big thing with a roller, went over
it but the crack was still there. Yesterday, here came the big machine
with the clawed scoop and dug up the cracked concrete. So, today, the
concrete was poured and someone smoothed it out. Well, I guess he didn’t
do it right, so another one came along and re-did the smoothing….LOL
Nuff said on this subject, except , maybe I just don’t get it.
                      Blessings Always, GGBConfusedRed rose

    Rain Is Finally Gone…Kassey

I love the rain, but how wonderful to finally see the sun!! I needed the warmth

today, so I found some sunshine in my bedroom window. She missed me so
she looked in on me and placed my pillow on the organizer by the windowsill.
Oh, It felt really good and I also got to see the humans who are making a lot
of noise here. They use this noisy thing to fix the sidewalks here that cracked.

It is gonna be cool tonight, she said and I know she’d want me sleeping with her.
I hope you all stay warm tonight. We are so blessed, aren’t we? So, we furry friends
    should keep our humans warm.

    Blessings Always, Kassey

    Moved To Her Bathroom…..Kassey

Yesterday the bug spray man came and he sprayed more than he usually
does. She showed him the big spider in the bathtub in my room, so due to the spray I had
to use her bathroom. She knew that I wondered why my box was moved to her
bathroom. Naturally I went to mine but the door was closed. She told me after the spray
dries she’ll move my box back to my bathroom.
Today it was stormy and I was on the recliner near the window. She said I should not
be by the window while it was lightening. So I hopped down and went to my new bed for a
nap. When I got up, she had moved my box back to my bathroom. Maybe she won’t be moving
things around for awhile.  Well, a cat can hope, I guess.Wink

    ASPARAGUS

I received this in email and it’s important material.

    ASPARAGUS

"My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned-style asparagus that she pureed,
and she took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons  later in the
day.  She did this for over a month.  She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung
cancer in the pleural area, and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125
as of this past week.  Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3
    months."

    THE ARTICLE:

Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who  had
cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article, entitled, ‘Asparagus for
cancer’, printed in Cancer News Journal.I will share it here, just as it was
    shared with me:
‘I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health
for over 50  years…Several years ago, I learned of the discovery
of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S., that asparagus might
cure cancer. Since then, I have worked with him on his
project.&nbs p;We have accumulated a number of favorable case histories.

    Here are a few examples:

    Case No. 1,

A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin’s disease (cancer of the lymph
    glands) who was completely incapacitated.
Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to
detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of
    strenuous exercise..

    Case No. 2,
A successful businessman, 68 years old, who suffered from cancer of the bladder
for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without
    improvement, he went on asparagus.
Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared
and that his kidneys were normal.

    Case No. 3,

A man who had lung cancer. On March 5th, he was put on the operating table
where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The
surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard
about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it.

By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had
disappeared… He is back at his regular business routine.

    Case No. 4,

A woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally
developed different skin cancers=2 0which were diagnosed, by asking a specialist,
as advanced. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist
said that her skin looked fine, and no more skin lesions.

This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease,
which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was
receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney
    condition.

She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.

I was  not surprised at this result, as `The Elements of
Materia Medica’,  edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University
of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney
stones.  He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in
    dissolving stones.

We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered
with our obtaining some of the records.  I am therefore appealing to readers to
spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories
that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and
    natural remedy.

For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using, and
therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh. I have corresponded with
the two leading canners of asparagus, Green Giant and Stokely,&nbs p;and I am
satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.

Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store
    in the refrigerator.
Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.

Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted
with water and used as a cold or hot drink.

This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger
amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.

As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent’.
Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a
beverage with our meals. We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our
taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers
hers cold. For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as
    part of our regular
    checkups…

The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the
nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all
categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to
    nothing but the asparagus drink…

As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and
all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in
bet ter with the latest theories about cancer. Asparagus contains a good supply
of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell
growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance
that I call cell-growth normalizer. That
accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic.

In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest is a harmless
substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much
    good..

It has been reported by the U.S. National Cancer Institute that asparagus is
the highest-tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the
    body’s most potent anti-carcinogens and anti-oxidants.

Please spread the news!  The most unselfish act one can ever do is to
forward the kindness one has received!

    JUST THINKING ….KASSEY

We like the rain, but hoping for a dry weekend for the community
yardsale. She usually doesn’t participate, but helps my Aunt J. This is
a community thing which is more fun for me as so many people are buy-
ing things they ‘can’t live without’.
I enjoy watching people as humans do. And they can be funny or puz-
zling to a cat. When ‘she’s’ busy, I ‘meow’ to get her attention, coz I want
an explaination sometimes. And sometimes I just want her to stop what she’s
doing and pet me. Well, I am her best friend and she’s the center of my world.
Sometimes I just look at her for awhile and she says, ‘What’s on your mind?" I
              love doing this….funny humans…lolWink
I am enjoying my new bed coz I’m sleeping on her bed without disturbance.
She did move it closer to her but I noticed so she put it back….silly human. I also
enjoy walking across her to get to my bed. Why should I have to go to the end of
the bed to jump up? When I leave the window it’s just more fun to jump on her night-
table and walk right beside her and across her to get to my bed. Humans just need
to understand that this is how it is.
I must go now and nap a little on this rainy day. It has stopped for awhile but
              still cloudy and cooler.
Blessings Always, Kassey Cat face Umbrella

Kassey, you are so right about humans needing to understand that\’s just how it is. I walk across my people at night, why should I have to walk around the bed to jump up when it\’s more direct to just jump up and walk across them. And, as you said…more fun, too! Snickers

Talking about New Bed For Me….Kassey

Cat face Yippee !! She is so happy this morning. She saw me sleeping in my new bed and she didn’t know I was there until she woke this nice rainy morning. She had to get up early coz she and my Aunt J were gonna have a yard sale. And this would have been fun for me coz I would see a lot of people. We went back to bed and slept in for awhile. It was so nice sleeping on her bed and I’m sure she will take a picture when she catches me taking a nap.

Usually when their yardsale is rained out, they have it later, but it’s ok coz I’ll have fun too.Red rose

Well, we prefer to sleep with our human, one on each side of her. We do have a bed – at least Possum does, because he took it over as a kind of day bed. Of course, the disadvantage of sleeping with our human is that when she moves around (and humans are really TWITCHY when they sleep, aren\’t they?) it disturbs US. Still, you are lucky to have alternatives available. We are pro-choice!Possum and Pixie

Dear Kassey, mom, (Harmony) bought me a nice big bed too. It\’s very plush, faux mink and is very comfy so she keeps telling me only how she would know, I will never know. I, however have not slept in it. First, the other cats had to check it out and get their scent on it to claim it for their own and then lost interest and abandoned it. Now it has all of their scent on it and I\’m not quite sure if I want to try it out. Time will tell. Maybe give your bed a try, you might like it. However, that said, we are cats and we do what we want and can turn our little feline noses up at things just to keep our humans on their toes. hehe. Hugs to your mama and you.Bazzy the cat. x

    Closed Doors……Kassey

My human has closed off her bedroom and bathroom. She waited for me to

go to sleep so she could spray these rooms for spiders because she said she had been bitten
by one. While the spray dries, we sleep in the livingroom. I don’t mind this because
I like the recliner and she’s with me too. I do miss looking out the bedroom window and I’m sure
it won’t be long until she moves back in there. Oh , how I miss that window !
Until next time, this is Kassey, wishing you all Blessings…. ~ Kassey

Spiders are nasty things and your human is looking out for both of you. You will be back in front of the window in no time at all Kassey.

Here in the UK we do not have biting creepy crawlies at all to worry about but at the moment our house pest is a mouse and a very lucky one too. Several times over the years when the weather turns cold and wet one or two come in from the garden and I catch them in traps. This autumn we have one which is so careful about taking bait from the trap that it has escaped fully fed. I on the other hand have bruised and sore fingers after the trap has sprung while I have been handling it. I shall have to get a trap FELINE style to do the job. Would Kassie like a holiday over here for two weeks full board and lodging with the odd midnight feast.Ossie

I Tried Sleeping In Her Room….Kassey

I have been a very patient cat but until she inflates a bigger bed, I will not

even try to sleep with her. Yesterday, she re-arranged my bedroom and it
looks good. So to show my appreciation, last night I tried two times to get
comfortable on her little bed. I got up and came back. Well, it’s the same old
thing with her moving about. I just could not take it, so I left and never re-
turned until morning, pawing at her precious blinds. She really hates that and
said, "get outta here, I’m not ready to get up." She got up about an hour later.
She said the filter man was coming today and then she and my Aunt Jeanne
were going to town…..so I’ll be alone on this cloudy day catching some zzzzz’s.
    Love And Blessings, Kassey

Oh Kassey..isn\’t it annoying when our mom\’s toss and turn and here you actually went in to sleep with her? I mean, that was so nice of you, and her bed was inhospitable to you. What kind of deal is THAT? But at least she made sure your bedroom as nice and comfy..so..when you get a chance, snuggle with her in the living room,

Kassey, I know how you feel. My mom tends to disturb me whenever she rolls over…about knocked me off the bed last night. I like the warmth from her feet, so just laid back onto them as soon as she was still. Love, Snickers

    Leaves of Gold again……Kindness

                                                                          KINDNESS

Though the world needs reproof and correction, it needs kindness more; though it needs the
grasp of the strong hand, it needs too, the open palm of love and tenderness.
    ~ Henry Ward Beecher

The person who sows seeds of kindness will have a perpetual harvest.
    ~ Anonymous

Life is short and we have not too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are travel-
ing the dark way with us, Oh, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind!
    ~ Henry Frederic Amiel

Ask Him to increase your powers of sympathy; to give you more quickness and depth of sym-
pathy , in little changes as well as great. Opportunities of doing a kindness are often lost from
mere want of thought. Half a dozen lines of kindness may bring sunshine into the whole day
of some sick person. Think of the pleasure you might give to someone who is much shut up,
and who has fewer pleasures than you have, by sharing with her some little comfort or enjoy-
ment that you have learned to look upon as a necessary of life.
    ~ G.W. Wilkinson

Kindness is loving people more than they deserve.
    ~ Joseph Joubert

     Blessings Always, GGB

If you\’re looking for a book to read that speaks to this try "The incredible intensity of everyday lives". It has lots to say on the importance of kindness above all other virtues (though I don\’t think it is even in the list??) Increasingly I become aware that it is the greatest gift we have to give. Thank you for the reminder.

So true – so very true. Always be kind to each other, and the rest will follow. After all, what does it cost us to be kind? I so find it hard to understand why we CAN\’T be kind to each other! Luv \’n smiles to you, GG. 🙂
